Galaxy Editor is the new map editor for StarCraft 2. Some of the capabilities.
-Custom Units (Yes model it texture map totally custom)
-FPS, RPG, and RTS cababilities
-Code is based on C++
-Money is made for custom maps
-What developers are saying "What can Galaxy not do."

Capabilities
Battle.net services

Mp clan we can make well anything. Also might need a few people who do Texturing, 3D modeling, Rigging, and Animation. I do 3d modeling I could learn to do rigging and animation.

That would be sweet. Instead of one person breaking a sweat for one map, while doing all the modeling, coding, designing, testing, etc, we could have the whole clan work on one map instead as a team.

We could revise each others work, criticize it, then create something much better. I'd love to do something with sounds, voice acting. I'll see if I can get my brother into the clan to do some C++ Coding.

If not everyone in the clan is willing to pitch in, we could create a team inside Mp), like team Red Line or something :3

This Galaxy editor basically has all the tools to create your own game. Just like sc/bw community, it'll still be alive for another 10+ years.

That's the plan I have. Have everyone make let's say a tileset of custom units, land, textures, etc... This will be the Clan Mp tileset available to all Mp Members. This will allow people to still create maps themselves and also allow people to create maps together. Why I'm asking to do a custom tileset theres a few reasons 1)It would give Clan Mp HUGE recognition in the SC network 2)Using custom work allows us to put price tags on some of the clans more advanced work so the clan has money for shirts and whatever else people decide 3) It would just be fun. 4)Oh yeah we get money for it O.o who doesn't like money?

People will learn to rip content from maps, assuming it will be 'locked' in the first place. Remember how people made it so you could password protect your map? Then people made it so you could bypass those locks? And then people made better locks? And then people made better lock-cracker things?

To paraphrase a quote from Bioshock: You can make it unhackable, but that doesn't mean we won't hack it.

I think the questions is, who here will make free maps?

People who aren't greedy. If I made maps, I will make free maps. Not to say I won't make maps that cost money, although I'm not going to pretend to know how it will all be once it's all released. Still though, I think it should be required of Mp to release free maps at the minimum.

If Mp is going to be a clan of learning, it wouldn't make sense to restrict information to just members or people who are retarded enough to pay for a stupid map on some RTS game.

You guys got me all wrong. The ratio of free to priced maps will be roughly 1-7 if that. then maps will be maybe 2.50 - 5.00. I don't plan to be like "YOU WANT MP GIVE ME ALL YOUR MONEY." Mp is a genuinly helping clan so I dont see why we wouldn't give out maps for free and sell some maps cause money is nice and my gf is expensive.

Also I don't work so won't be able to buy SC2 when it comes out, gonna be over 80$ I'm sure. I can... modify sounds using that free wav editor trial I got, its pretty good, but I can't promise I'l be able for anything else than plain mapping and triggering, I do not spend enough time on it.

80 bucks isn't a lot man. When my I was younger, and I had no job, I would recycle cans, along with my brother.

That's how we got Halo 2 and the original XBox, nothing but recycled cans baby!

Yeah, takes a while, especially if you're Neo. hehe

Good thing I work now unlike the other non working losers here. Right? RIGHT?

Unfortunately I only have about $60 left over at the end of each month, but soon I will have closer to $600 as I move onto full time schedule. More money, less time to use it! Yay!

I make ~1,400 to 1,800 per month, maybe once I earned 2k in a month. My gf and I combined though...

the bad thing is that we have to pay around 600 bucks for the 4 phones + unlimited everything and our unlimited wireless service...

LZN ~ 15.00

WoW ~ 15.00

Rent + Insurance ~ 200.00

The kick ass 12" speakers that I bought for zeck :embarrassed2:

Yeah, soon school will be added to the list once again.

The point is, even working people don't have enough money at all times.
