Tutorial 2 - Freerunning

Make a custom class like this:

Primary: Any SMG with rapid fire

Secondary: Any handgun with Tactical Knife.

Equipment: Semtex

Special: Flashbang

Perks: Marathon, Lightweight and Commando (preferably Pro on all of these)

This perk combination allows you to have infinite sprint with increased speed and melee distance. It is difficult to get pro for Marathon and Lightweight because you have to run long distances (30 miles!!!). This class works best on maps with large open spaces and lots of camping spots. DON'T WORRY, you're not gonna be camping, more like killing all the campers.

So, as soon as the game starts, switch to your handgun and sprint. You'll notice how fast your moving, and how difficult it will be for players and snipers to get a lock on you, and therefore kill you. You can run into open spaces without fear of being sniped or "camped" (going into a building and being killed by a camper, many times).

Now, after you've got to grips with your speed, try knifing (melee). You'll notice it's almost instant, since the knife is always in your hand, under your gun, poised for action. The melee distance is also increased due to the commando perk. Another VERY important thing is to get commando pro. This allows you to take no damage from falling, so you can jump out of buildings and out of windows and not die. BEWARE on highrise, if you jump out of the map you will still die. This is good for jumping on campers and for defending your self close-quarters.

Okay, so you're fast, agile and armed. Now, run into the nearest building. DO NOT stop moving, because the chances are, if there's a camper, they will kill you. While you're running, use your right analogue stick to scan the room for campers, make sure to check all the nooks and crannies, including under desks (trust me) and on top of exterior window ledges. If you find a camper/sniper, and they haven't spotted you, go up to them and knife them. This way you won't come up on the radar. If they have spotted you, make sure you keep moving randoml; (but at the same time towards your target) while hip firing your weapon, and as soon as your within reach, knife them. It is important not to go STRAIGHT towards the camper, because they'll kill/stick you. Approach from the side, and if they turn towards you, zip to the other side. Also, as soon as they're dead, run, because they might have the martyrdom death streak, which drops a live grenade upon death (a camper favourite, because they tend to hide in small places). After a few seconds, if nothing happens, scan any connecting rooms or flights of stairs.

Now repeat this process for the next nearest building. Remember while going up stairs, if there is a turn or a landing, face the way you will be when you enter the room or the next flight of stairs. I don't know if that makes sense, but in the same way, before turning a corner, face the way you will be once you would have turned it. That's as good as I can explain it. I only say this because some campers wait at doorways or at turnings in flights of stairs, and if you're not wary thy'll kill you without blinking.

And remember, if you do have to shoot, don't hang around, because on everybody else's HUDs, a red dot will have popped up giving you away. Always watch your back (and your sides) and DON'T STOP MOVING!

(BTW, I know that we are a gaming community, but I'm just asking: does anyone need a tutorial on camping?)

Modern Warfare 2: Tutorial 1 - Stealth Play

Tutorial 1 - Stealth Play

Try this combination:
Primary: Assault rifle with ACOG and Silencer
Secondary: Whatever with silencer
Equipment: Smoke Grenade
Special: Whatever
Perks: Bling, Cold Blooded and Ninja (preferably Pro on all of these)

It is best to have pro of Ninja especially because it silences your footsteps as well. Cold blooded pro is also very important because the enemy cross-hairs don't go red when pointed at you, and no name appears.

The first tip I have is to stay as close to walls as you can. Staying in the middle of a road makes you vulnerable from a lot of directions, so staying against the wall makes sure you're a bit better protected. When turning corners, staying next to the wall gives you a visibility disadvantage, but it makes it harder for enemy's to spot you turning.

Here's another tip: when turning corners, duck down so that you're crouching. This will disappoint any enemy campers/snipers aiming for a headshot, because they will aim above your head. Also, try to only turn corners that have cover ahead of them, because that will be useful in a hip fire fire fight.

Tip three: use smoke grenades when you're trapped or when your running away. These make escapes and counter ambushes so easy, you won't believe it. Also, in a map like Highrise, if you spawntrap a team, throw a smoke grenade into their main spawn place. It really is annoying spawning into thick smoke, and then being knifed.

There's another tip: use your melee knife more often. If, say, on Afghan, you turn up behind a whole team of snipers all zoomed in, don't alert them by shooting. Knife the one furthest back so as not to draw attention to any of the others, then go for the on the next furthest back, etc etc...

Another technique for those situations: use semtex. If you have semtex in that class, stick the person that's roughly in the middle and then run like hell. As soon as the grenade indicator comes up on their screens, they're going to turn around and murder you. Of course, you can't do that if you're no longer there!

I hope you find this tutorial useful for your MW2 gameplay, and your FPS gameplay in general.
